Product Description
Douglas Laboratories Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate P5P is vitamin B6's metabolically active coenzyme. The body has to convert vitamin B6 into pyridoxal and then phosphorylate it into P5P in the liver. This is necessary because P5P is the only form that enzymes can use in biochemical processes that are associated with nitrogen and protein metabolism and heme synthesis. Once P5P is exported from the liver, it is the most relevant direct measure of vitamin B6 status. The nutritional status of B6 can impact the production of serotonin and GABA which then have a positive affect on pain perception, anxiousness and emotional response.
Recommended use: Take 1 capsule, 1-2 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
