Douglas Laboratories Melatonin P.R. is a dietary supplement designed to slowly breakdown and release in the small intestine over approximately 6 hours. Its functions in the body involve support for the immune function, sleep/wake cycle regulation, and cell protection from harmful free radicals. Best known for support of the sleep/wake cycles, melatonin production increases at night or in the dark and is inhibited when the eyes signal the pineal gland as daylight is perceived. Melatonin supports the activity of natural killer cells, thus supporting the immune system.
