Cyrex Labs Alzheimer's Link Test

Cyrex Labs Alzheimer's Link Test

In our last blog we reviewed the two types of Alzheimer's. One blood test by Cyrex is designed to help with early diagnosis. Follow this link to the Lab Test pages.

The test is designed to look at different factors that affect the brain environment. The following list is technical, and I have included it just in case someone is doing a search and wants to know how to get one of these items tested. Lab cost at the time of the writing (2024) was about $500 so that won't include any office visits or other clinic fees.

Brain Proteins: Tau protein, Amyloid-Beta Peptide, Rabaptin-5 + Presenilin & Alpha-Synuclein

Growth Factors: Beta nerve Growth Factor, Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, Neurotrophins, Somatotropin

Enteric Nerve, Enzymes and Neurological Peptides: Enteric Nerve + Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide, Transglutaminases

Pathogens: Oral pathogens, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli CDT + Salmonella CDT, Campylobacter jejuni CDT, Herpes Type-1

Chemicals: Aluminums, Dinitrophenyl, Ethyl + Methyl Mercury, Phthalates

Foods Cross-Reactive to Amyloid Beta: Egg yolk (raw and cooked), Lentil lectin + Pea protein, Tuna (canned), Hazelnut Vicilin + Cashew Vicilin, Scallops + Squid, Caseins, Alpha-Gliadin + Gliadin Toxic Peptide, Non-Gluten Wheat Proteins

Blood Brain Barrier and Neurofilaments: Blood-Brain Barrier Protein + Claudin-5, Neurofilament Proteins, Aquaporins

With this test you will have an idea of some of your risk factors for certain types of dementia.
