Context of Vitamin Safety In Response to Reports of Increased Death Rate in Users
We've recently seen more articles coming out about vitamin and supplement safety and I want to provide some context on the matter. Basically, it is difficult to kill people with vitamins. On the other hand, properly prescribed pharmaceuticals kill at least 100,000 people a year in the U.S. alone. Any anxiety over vitamin safety is vastly misplaced. Keep in mind that the quality of vitamins varies greatly. If you find some cheap supplements in your big box store, you can be sure they are cheap for a reason. Your body can tell the difference between the high-quality supplements and cheap ones even if you can't tell by looking at the different bottles. Basically, this means that in general you shouldn't buy your vitamins where you buy your tube socks and tires.
